One of a band of new WALX groups to launch this spring is Andrea Bainbridge based in the North East of England.
Andrea is a chartered physiotherapist with over 30 years experience in rehabilitation and musculoskeletal therapy. She also loves walking and walks daily in the Hamsterley Forest a site managed by Forestry England, one of our National Partners. She contacted WALX because she wanted to combine her skills and interests to inspire people to be active in a new phase of her career.
After joining us for an online Discovery Webinar in February, she decided to take the plunge and enrol for the WALX Master Diploma.
The Tutor Team at WALX take prior knowledge and skills into account when planning each learners personal journey, opening up relevant modules to cover the skills they need to focus on. Andrea was soon concentrating on the skills she would need to get started such as the route planning, leadership and health and safety elements plus the WALX walking well programme. The learning is modular and done at your own pace so Andrea soon moved on to master total body walking with poles and functional fitness for ageing well.
Within 2 months she was ready to promote and lead Explorer walks and Power of poles courses.
At this point, the admin and support teams stepped in to help with pricing, promotion and systems. They created personalised webpages, blog and social media accounts to reflect her skills and personality and trained her to load her activities onto the WALX management portal.
The HQ team also link all new learners with their partners and contacts in each area so Andrea now has access to two Forest sites, an opportunity to deliver for the local council and a potential workplace health contract with a local Hospital Trust!
The demand for WALX programmes is out there and we just need people like Andrea to come on board and make it happen! We look forward to working with her to inspire people to walk themselves well!
Here’s what Andrea told us about the training and support at WALX………………….
The support you receive from Walx during the training and consequently the setting up/ development of your new business is fantastic.
From the day one you are made to feel welcome and part of a team . They have invaluable tips and insights into how best to market your business, built on their years of experience.
During the training I have never felt isolated and have only ever experienced a willingness to listen, advise and a never ending vat of patience . If you ask a question then you receive a quick response and are never made to feel that you’re an inconvenience. Even though they are busy people they always have time for you.
They even work behind the scenes to ensure that you are getting the right support and advice to promote you and your business.
I have no hesitation in recommending Walx – it may be spread out throughout the country but they work hard to include and listen to everyone. I feel part of a team and I have enjoyed every minute of my “journey” and look forward to working and developing with Walx for many years .
If you would like to find out more about the training, duration, content, costs etc – join us on one of our weekly LIVE webinars – 45 minutes with the HQ team – meet us and find out how we can help you.
