Role: WALX Master
I began Nordic walking 8 years ago following an accident in which I broke my leg in 3 places which has left me with a permanent disability. I had always loved walking and after being non weight bearing for 6 months, I searched for ways to get me out walking again – I found Nordic Walking and have not looked back since. I can now walk for a while without poles but can walk so much further and faster with them.
I am excited to be bringing total body walking to the area because it is so effective and easy to master and I’m looking forward to sharing my passion for Walking with Poles.
I want to help those who don’t enjoy traditional exercise classes or gyms but who have always enjoyed walking and would love to get more benefit from their walks and use them to improve fitness, tone up and to meet new people.
I also want to make a difference to people like me with impaired mobility or who are returning to fitness following an accident and who lack confidence when beginning to walk again. I know what a difference that walking with poles can make and I want to share that experience
