This Summer our groups have excelled themselves with innovative walk themes, challenges and getaways!
While a group from WALX Preston were tackling Ben Nevis, other groups were enjoying peaceful sunset walks to mark the Summer solstice. This group from Northants ( WALX Heart of the shires) had bubbly and scones as they watched the sun go down on the longest day.
Saddleworth Nordic Walking climbed right up to a local viewpoint on the moors called Pots and Pans (pictured) whilst Nordic Walking Watford took a sunrise walk to a local nature centre to join a yoga group and chill out before enjoying some breakfast.
Meanwhile the summer fun this year has included a paddle boarding expereince day with WALX tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells or an equally refreshing dip in a Scottish loch with our highlands based WALX Easter Ross
All of these wonderful ways to connect with nature and people are examples of how life changing it can be to join one of our groups – with or without poles, any age or any fitness level – try it and you will not be disappointed.
If there is no group near you – contact us to see how you could be the person to make it happen because there are people just like you waiting for it to happen!
This picnic walk is to celebrate 15 years ( yes 15 years!) of walking together for Sam and her group in Derbyshire – WALX Derwent and Dales based near Ashbourne. Sam started as a Nordic Walking UK Instructor and now operates several walks a week with a team of brilliant leaders and support Instructors.
As a WALX MASTER, she now also offers connecting with nature walks, total body walking sessions for wellness and fitness, day hikes, trips and holidays.
Sam is the first of many groups to reach this milestone and is a much valued WALX team Member who supports HQ and other groups. CONGRATULATIONS SAM – You are one in a million!
One thing all of our groups do is to promote the benefits of being active outdoors and how brilliant poles are for all ages. In this picture Ian and Carol from Mercian Nordic Walking plus some of their group are at a local Pensioners Fair where they managed to also ensure their local MP Savid Javid experienced the POWER OF POLES
Well done team!
