There has been so much activity as the days have lengthened and our groups have enjoyed nature, get togethers, holidays and challenge events.

Some have had special celebrations and others have climbed mountains! Here are some of their pictures….

Hilary Fenton-Harris from WALX Dorset was one of many walkers who took part in fundraising for Parkinson’s UK across the UK

In Memory of her Husband Paul, she walked over 100 miles in May with the support of the local group who cheered her on as she did extra loops and attended as many of the scheduled walks as possible.

Martine Heidemann (also pictured) fromHertfordshire also walked 100 miles for her chosen charity WALK FOR HEARTS.

The rest of her local group WALX Ridgeway were also very busy with their leaders doing a walk to raise funds for Florence Nightingale Hospice Care and some of the walkers completing the 25km Jurassic Challenge.

Meanwhile Milton Keynes Nordic walking took part in their local race for life event and WALX Coast and Country did a moonlight walk

The pictures below show a round up of some of the many events supported by our wonderful walkers in National walking month

Keep it up folks!

Meanwhile Denis Collen from WALX Harrow was featured in the British Heart Foundation magazine as he told how he turned his lifestyle around following a near death episode.

Now Denis is an advocate for healthy living and with his wife Sue runs a wonderful WALX group in North London which offers the WALX 6 week plan to others looking to be more active.

His experience with both heart health and Diabetes helps him to spread the word about positive choices and using poles! Keep up the good work Denis and Sue

As usual the groups have had fun both in the SUN and as Saddleworth Nordic walking demonstrate.. not in the sun!

WALX Wessex climbed Pen Y Fan in wales on a very damp day but other groups still managed to enjoy orchids walks and other nature inspired sessions

Here are a few other fun shots courtesy of WALX Dorset, WALX Ver valley and WALX Easter Ross who seem to be having a swinging time up there in the Highlands. If you would like to feature in our next round up – send your news to support@walx.co.uk

Finally a big mention for Mike Stead and his team from Positively Nordic in Harrogate who are the latest NWUK group to reach the 10 year milestone

As you can see from the picture below they thoroughly enjoyed a lovely party to celebrate – Congratulations from us at HQ folks!
