Following a host of testimonials from people who have joined our groups and used poles for rehabilitation post op. ( see this article) we thought we would invite an expert to answer any questions you may have re physical activity and exercise before and after hip and knee replacement.
Professor Tom Wainwright is a physiotherapist, clinical academic and quality improvement specialist with a broad range of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal related research interests. He is internationally recognised for his pioneering work and thought leadership in regard to Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) protocols within orthopaedics. He has a proven track record of leading research and professional practice, with over £5 million of grant income and over 100 peer-reviewed publications in the last 5 years.
We are delighted that he has taken time to join a WALX total body walking wellness group where despite the pouring rain, walkers were keen to share their experiences in relation to poles. He has also agreed to join us on
SEPTEMBER 4th and 7.00 pm to answer YOUR questions.
As there is huge interest in this session, we are asking people to REGISTER in advance and to send any questions by September 1st so we can avoid duplication and make the most of Professor Wainwrights time with us. Please e mail gill@walx.co.uk with your question plus whether you wish you name to be mentioned and if you would be happy to speak live should it be necessary.
We are happy to put your questions to Tom for you so no need to feel uncomfortable and we will RECORD the session for those who can’t make it on the day.
