Attending an extra walk or two or working a bit harder by joining a higher intensity session will not only provide health and fitness benefits!
Our unique smilage reward scheme provides unique points based on attendance and effort and we like to reward those who try new things, turn up on bleak days and improve from week to week
In the October newsletter we announced that we would be checking out those with the most points for attendance and intensity and can reveal that we had two winners who had excelled themselves (especially as the weather was awful)
Fiona Underwood from New Forest Nordic Walking group clocked up 276 points and here she is with Instructor Suzanne Madden who presented her with a lovely warming weatherproof changing ROBE given to us by TWO BARE FEET who also provide a discount for all WALX Members
Suzanne was impressed with Fiona’s efforts and the group congratulated her too as they all agreed it was a mammoth effort! whilst
Shirley Mead from the WALX Coast and Country group (pictured with her Instructor and group) was a close second with 248! and when she got the call from WALX HQ she thought it was spam! We will have to brush up on our’lucky winner’ calls as we will be picking winners every couple of months now! Log in to your WALX or NWUK profile page to see your Smilage points and see if you can ctach these two active ladies!
We all know how tough it can be to step out on cold dark days but now you have another reason for not missing that walk!
