The WALX HQ team have been busy spreading their message that whole body outdoor exercise led by professional instructors in relaxed social groups is the perfect recipe for health and wellbeing.

Circa 150 motivated Italian Nordic Walking Instructors attended the annual SINW CAMP where they update their skills and learn new techniques. After a 20 minute presentation outlining the innovations and teaching methods which are rapidly transforming pole walking in the UK, an outdoor workshop with 4 key stations was enjoyed by all.

The circuit style stations were designed to facilitate large numbers and to demonstrate how quickly  we are able to get people FEELING the benefits of using total body walking poles. Aided by a team of Italian WALX master trainers, it provided the  townsfolk of Cesena  quite a spectacle as everybody walked to the central park where exercises were performed around a bandstand.

One exercise saw Instructors working on the natural posture and relaxed arm swing which is integral to the WALX method whilst the next station included exercises designed to bring elements such as balance, strength and range of movement into the mix.

Station 3 explored the unique features of the WALX handle and how it differs from any other strap or handle by exactly matching the natural hand and wrist positions when walking. Instructors explored how to push through the thenar region of the hand and maximise the fact the handles sit on 15 degree shafts.

A faster blast of CV was injected into station 4 to emphasize that using the upper body effectively can provide a great CV workout.

The new simple teaching methods and strapless poles devised by WALX in partnership with Fizan ensure people get to feel the benefits immediately and quickly gain confidence plus a sense of achievement. Adding some exercises that challenge balance, add strength and improve cardiovascular fitness create an outdoor workout suitable for all levels, which can be done anywhere.

Participants enjoyed the new approach to pole walking which is based on results rather than technique with many signing up to join the 60 plus Instructors already trained in the WALX method. Watch this space as the WALX team jet off to the far east next month to launch the next International training school.
