Seven-day Wester Ross & Torridon Hiking Adventure
Dates: May 22nd - May 29th 2027

Highland Cattle
Based on the shores of Upper Loch Torridon at Inveralligin, we’ll be surrounded by some of Scotland’s most celebrated mountains. Beinn Alligin, Liathach and Beinn Eighe dominate the landscape, their great sandstone ridges providing some of the finest and most spectacular mountain walking in Britain.

Wester Ross
Views across Loch Torridon/Inveralligin view
Inveralligin is a tiny, remote Highland settlement on the northern shore of Upper Loch Torridon, surrounded by some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in Wester Ross. Sitting beneath Beinn Alligin and close to Liathach and Beinn Eighe, it makes an exceptional base for both mountain and coastal walking.
Quiet and wonderfully unspoilt, Inveralligin feels properly away from it all, yet Torridon village, Shieldaig and Lower Diabaig are all within reach. Best of all for our trip, several superb walks can begin directly from our accommodation at Ben View.

Ben View
On the water’s edge
Our main base for the week is Ben View, a spacious five-bedroom house in Inveralligin overlooking Upper Loch Torridon. It provides a wonderful communal base where we can eat together, relax after our walks and plan the following day’s adventures. As many guests prefer single occupancy of a double or twin room, the number we can accommodate at Ben View may be lower than its maximum sleeping capacity.
When this is full, we strongly recommend booking your own room at the Torridon Youth Hostel.

High Points of Wester Ross
This itinerary is a planned outline and may be adjusted according to weather conditions, group fitness, or local advice.
Our seven-day adventure begins at Ben View in Inveralligin, overlooking Upper Loch Torridon, before heading into some of Wester Ross’s most spectacular landscapes. We’ll tackle classic mountain days on Beinn Alligin and Beinn Eighe, including the magnificent Coire Mhic Fhearchair and Triple Buttress, before changing pace with a day exploring the coast, woodland and Highland village of Shieldaig. We return to the mountains for Beinn Damh, one of the finest viewpoints in Torridon, before following the wild coastline around Lower Diabaig, Craig and Red Point, finishing with dinner at the wonderfully remote Gille Brighde. Our final day is deliberately kept as a Wild Card, allowing us to choose the best adventure for the weather, conditions and the group — a fitting finale to a week of mountains, coast and wilderness.

The mountain on the doorstep
Terrain & Fitness – This trip is graded Moderate–Strenuous (4/5) overall. Expect a mix of maintained paths, rough moorland, boulder fields, and short scrambly sections on certain peaks. Daily outings last 6–8 hours, with up to 900–1,000 m of ascent on big mountain days. You will need a good level of fitness and prior experience in UK mountain terrain.
