WALX Wessex
Walx Wessex is a community of people who love exploring the great outdoors, meeting new friends and building their health and fitness whilst having fun.
We’re based in the Wiltshire end of the North Wessex Downs AONB and have access to some amazing countryside for our walks such as the Ridgeway, the Pewsey Vale, the Kennet and Avon canal and the ancient landscape of Avebury.
We offer primarily nordic walks but also some Open walks for those that want to experience our walks and friendly groups with or without poles.
If you are ready to give it a go then look for one of our Power of the Poles courses. A 90 minute session to introduce you to using the poles and getting the most from them. After this course you can join our nordic walks and practice and perfect the technique on the walks. We can also offer an optional advanced POP course to prefect your faster techniques and hill work.
We also offer outdoor fitness (Total Body WALX) using our poles or using other equipment such as Smoveys or fitness bands or just what we find on a walk.

The WALX HQ Team are the creators of the WALX and Nordic Walking UK programmes with many years of experience in the delivery of pole walking and wellness programmes.They all run successful WALX groups and are part of the UK wide Tutor network. WALX Leamington And Warwick
WALX Leamington and Warwick run walks and sessions in the Leamington area. We are an established Total Body Walking group and have been delivering sessions locally for 10 years.
At WALX, all activities and walks are led by qualified instructors and leaders. There is something for everyone.
If you prefer a more gentle pace to your exercise, then WELLBEING sessions are ideal for you. However, if you are looking for something more challenging and want to push yourself, then TOTAL BODY WALX is perfect—especially if you are aiming to improve your fitness for a challenge or future event. These sessions combine resistance and strength exercises as part of the workout.
EXPLORER WALX are a great way to exercise outdoors in a social group where you can walk and talk. The length of these walks varies from an hour to a half or full day. The poles we use are specifically designed to ensure you get the full benefit of Total Body Walking with every step you take.
At WALX, we also offer all our members Zoom sessions, providing additional online options if you are away on holiday or have other commitments at home or work.
Whatever your goals—whether it’s getting fitter, competing in an event, or improving your mobility to make everyday tasks easier, you will be supported.
For the summer, we will continue to offer an excellent 6-week introductory package to all new members, along with all the benefits of membership.
