You must dress appropriately for the session.

Rose Hill Marple Nordic Walks

Come along and join us on a friendly Nordic Walk starting at The Railway Pub near Rose Hill Station Marple, there are different circular routes around the area, using a mixture of streets, canals, parks, woodland, riverside paths, bridlepaths

The walk includes a short mobilisation of joints prior to walking and a cool down stretch at the end. 

The walks are advertised at 90mins but they may take a little longer than that, due to terrain, social distancing measures.

Walk Description:

Come with us on a magical journey through the wonderland that is the Labyrinth at Beacon Hill Country Park. Lose yourself amongst the twisted branches and fairytale wood carvings which hide amongst the Rhododendrons.

Add to this an energising walk around the pathways of the park, with plans to reach the summit of Beacon Hill to take in the spectacular views across Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and as far as Lincoln Cathedral (on a very clear day), this walk has it all! You may even catch a glimpse of the Highland Cattle and maybe the alpacas!

The park is part of a Site of Special Scientific Importance and a landmark for its' geology and ecology. You have the opportunity to take in the wonders of nature, but by the time you have reached the top of the hill your heart rate will be up and you may even fancy stopping for a coffee and cake at the park cafe!

It is sociable and can be followed by a cafe visit when covid restrictions allow.

You can join this  OPEN wellness walk with or without poles . It is a friendly,  supportive mixed ability group. We prefer to walk with poles as it is more effective than ordinary walking .When poles are used we are able to engage the upper body, core muscles, improve posture and burn more calories

You will need to book online as a completed PARQ ( Health  form ) is required

 These walks will be ideal for anyone recovering from Covid and those walkers who want a gentle return to pre lockdown fitness levels.  These sessions will help you become fitter and stronger if you have Neurological problems, medical conditions, jointproblems  or are returning to exercise after being inactive. They are supported by the NeuroTherapy centre in Saltney.

 Please  bring with you a mask, hand gel/ wipes, and  a pair of disposable gloves in a small rucsac with your drink  and any medication you may need .
