Walk Description:

It's a full moon - maybe. During the summer there is plenty of light, and as the evenings draw in torches help us find our way around our specially selected routes. Enjoy sociable Nordic Walking for Freedom Passport holders in a variety of locations with a mixed ability group. 

Lead by accredited instructors or leaders, these walks make the most of our beautiful countryside and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors, at the same time as improving your fitness and wellbeing.

We'll walk for at least an hour, longer if your time allows. Bring pennies for a visit to a nearby hostelry for refreshment afterwards.

Walk Description:

In this session we work on helping you to get strong legs, upper body strength, ankle strength, hip stability, balaance, agility all whilst having a great laugh.

You will be working hard but at appropriate level for your ability.

Everyone is supportive and youwill be made very welcome.

YOU DO NOT NEED POLES IF YOU ARE NOT A NORDIC WALKER.

You will part your car at the Ewe and Lamb then make your way over to the field opposite The Hanbury Turn Pub.

Please be at the field by 9.25am ready for the warm up.

ONLINE CLASSES

For online classes you must ensure that you have a clear area to train (Approx 2m Square).

You must dress appropriately for the session.

You must ensure that your emergency contact details are up to date in your profile. 

You will need a mat for floor exercises, a tea towel for strength exercises and a place where you can do press ups such as a kitchen work surface.  If you have access to a fitness band that would be useful too.

If the class is billed as a Gymstick/Pro X Walker/Isobow owners class you MUST have these items.

INDOOR CLASSES 

Bring a mat and clothing suitable for indoor fitness.

OUTDOOR CLASSES

You must be fit and healthy enoygh to take part in sessions outside on grass and other surfaces.

WALX Dorset

Walk Description:

Dorset had a key role in the Allied victories in the First and Second World Wars. This guided walk focuses on the Studland beaches and surrounding heathland which played a vital part in both the defence of Britain following the fall of France in 1940 and in the preparations for the Normandy D-Day landings in 1944.

In addition to identifying the military structures still standing today – some more hidden than others - and the stories they tell, we will be able to gain a panoramic perspective of the events that occurred around here from an advantageous viewpoint on the Godlingston Heath National Nature Reserve overlooking Poole Harbour and Studland Bay. 

Today a peaceful, scenic landscape, we will better understand the efforts of our recent ancestors who invested their lives in protecting the land for us to enjoy today.

A walk that is focussed on improving your cardio-vascular fitness encouraging you to achieve. 

It is fun and will challenge you appropriately.

You will be able to be sociable and talk but not "chat" freely as this is a fitness session not a wander.

The walk is suitable for all who have no limitations and who want to get fitter.

THE WALK LEADER WILL MANAGE THE DIFFERENT ABILITIES BY SENDING FASTER WALKERS OFF IN FRONT OR SENDING THEM BACK SO THAT EVERYONE GETS A WORKOUT DURING THIS SESSION.

Walk Description:

A gentle safe way to walk yourself fitter! These walks include exercises that help with flexibility, balance and strength whilst using poles to improve general fitness and increase joint mobility. Suitable for those who want to build up to the longer or more vigorous walks or may have concerns about their health.

Open to Non nordic walkers but you will be using poles that you can borrow if you do not have your own.

Sometimes this session will be in a field depending on weather conditions and other factors such as new clients joining the group for the furst time.

Our one to one sessions are suitable for people who prefer a dynamic session looking at specific technique or training for a challenge. This is also ideal for those who prefer to not participate in the weekly group sessions, often training on their own, but returning occasionally for a technique refresher.

The technique sessions are suitable for people who need to smarten up and tighten up on their Nordic walking technique. 

If you have completed a beginner course and have let things slide a bit, this session could be just what you are looking for. You don`t need to be a regular Norfolk Nordic Walking member and you are not obligated to participate in all our sessions.

The wellbeing walk is suitable for those who have completed the Power of Poles Introductory course/Learn to Nordic walk course and/or haven`t attended a class for a while.

This walk is also suitable for anyone coming back from an injury/illness or has medical conditions that prevent them from walking at a faster pace.
