Walk Description:

The South Downs Way is split into a series of eight linear walks. Each walk will be about 12 miles of strenuous, hilly chalk downland paths and lanes, woodland and stunning coastal views. 

You will need sturdy hike boots or shoes and to carry enough food and water for a full day’s walking.  There are not always stopping points for food and drink along the way, but we will visit hostelries along the route. Please prepare for all weather conditions (sun, rain, wind) as much of the route is quite exposed.

I will arrange transport back to where your car is parked, for which there may be an additional charge.

For online classes you must ensure that you have a clear area to train (Approx 2m Square).

You must dress appropriately for the session.

You must ensure that your emergency contact details are up to date in your profile. 

You will need a mat for floor exercises, a tea towel for strength exercises and a place where you can do press ups such as a kitchen work surface.  If you have access to a fitness band that would be useful too.

If the class is billed as a Gymstick/Pro X Walker/Isobow owners class you MUST have these items.

Free WALX of Wellbeing – Crayford Library Walk 

Short description

WALX of Wellbeing are free walks led by qualified volunteer walk leaders, previously known as Walking for Health Walks these are a great way to get outdoors, enjoy the green spaces and make new friends.

Get ready for the weekend with a stimulating Saturday morning walk around Stanmore Country Park. Or join us on a Sunday morning for a longer, faster paced walk in Ruislip Woods.

These are intermediate walks, usually lasting one hour and will include some hill work. For those new to the area you`ll be surprised at the fantastic views over London that you get from Wood Farm Viewpoint, the hidden lakes in PearsWood and Bentley Priory and the seemigly endless trails through woods which change with the seasons.

Walkabout Wednesdays give the opportunity to travel a little further into neighbouring boroughs, or out along the Metropolitan line into the Chess Valley. Saturdays we`re always in the Stanmore Country Park, but we never tire of it as there are such a variety of trails to explore.

We will continue to be cautious at the beginning and ending of our walks and encourage walkers throughout to maintain social distancing as best we can at all times.

A comfortably paced walk for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, the qualified Exercise Referral Instructor will lead you through a warm up, a short walk making stops along the way if needed and working on posture. Exercise bands are often used to give the legs a rest if required to work on the upper body. A sociable enjoyable session finishing with a stretch and then if the weather is dry a cuppa in the park.

Free WALX of Wellbeing - Bostall Heath (Gentle walks for Gentle Folks)

Short description

WALX of Wellbeing are free walks led by qualified volunteer walk leaders, previously known as Walking for Health Walks these are a great way to get outdoors, enjoy the green spaces and make new friends. 

Please book your session prior to walking, don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need any help.

Meeting Day and Time: Wednesday 10.00am

Meeting Point: Bostall Heath Car Park, Longleigh Lane, SE2 0GB

Parking and Buses: Free parking (16-18 Cars) Bus route 99 and B11

Toilet and Cafe: Yes, there is a toilet - No café, please bring your own refreshments as there are benches to sit at and enjoy a get together after the walk.

Description of the Walk: From the car park the WALX Guide will take you through the beautiful ever-changing woodland. The walk can be muddy when wet and in the winter months, please be prepared with good footwear for this walk. Approximately 1.5-2 miles.

Walk Description:

The Chalke Valley offers the most magical place for you to join us for a Nordic Walk . The countryside ranges from flower meadows and rare chalke stream walks to steep sweeping hills to the oxdroves with ancient monuments found on the top  . The views are far reaching and I have many different walks to share with you . Wednesday is a longer workout walk (6-10 miles) with a shorter option for you to loop back with Mary (3-5 miles).
