For those who have completed the 'Learn to' Nordic walking course. Enjoy a GENTLE full body work out while walking beside the banks of the Taw estuary, along the South West Coast path,(SWCP) Tarka trail and Home Farm Marsh before returning to the Cafe for a well-deserved “revive me” cup of coffee. If travelling from the direction of Barnstaple turn right as above once past the new David Wilson housing estate. The junction is signed the Estuary business park.

A comfortably paced Total Body WALX for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, during the walk providing if the weather is fine, we will stop for a 20 minute session of Chi Ball - a mixture of Tai Chi and Yoga from the seasons sequence. A small ball is used but imagination is fine for the session.
Details can be given if you would like to purchase a ball, for more details on the full chi ball virtual class please see the booking system.
You can book this session without the Power of Poles training, join us walking with no poles or borrow a set from us and feel the ‘Power of Poles’.

During this 45 minute session you get to feel the benefits from using the poles for walking. Using up to 90% of the body muscle, it targets those difficult to tone areas. Walking with poles is fun, social, fantastic and it will change the way you exercise.
Poles are provided for the session.
Please have suitable footwear on and a rucksack is advised for your belongings.

There is a charge for Danson Park car park after 10.00am.
Hall Place Meeting point
Please meet on the right hand side as you enter the car park as if you were in a car. The Instructor has a small van.

A gentle safe way to walk yourself fitter. Join our Wellbeing WALX Guides on a sociable, fun and enjoyable walk. We use strapped Nordic or Total Body Walking Poles, or you can walk without if you prefer. If you have your own poles then bring them along with you.

Find out how to use fitness walking poles to achieve the results YOU want. This course will help you understand how to select the right kind of poles and use them for health, fitness, fun or challenges.
This course will ensure you get the correct movement and techniques from the start. We provide the poles for tuition sessions. These are ergonomic poles during the first part and we change to strapped nordic walking poles in the second half of the course.

Don`t forget to wear suitable shoes and clothing for all weathers and bring a drink and snack.
Stiles & Gates – Although I will try and keep routes to a minimum of stiles and gates, you need to be able to climb stiles unaided.

Come, spend a couple of hours on a Saturday morning exploring interesting circular walks, up hill and down dale, in the Chilterns and South Bucks areas. With a wide variety of venues and terrain to chose from you are sure to discover a few favourites. The walk will change each week, and where practical will finish somewhere with refreshments and facilities.
Enjoy sociable Nordic Walking with your fellow experienced Freedom Passport holders in a variety of locations with a mixed ability group.
Lead by accredited instructors or leaders, these walks make the most of our beautiful countryside and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors, at the same time as improving your fitness and wellbeing.
We aim for a steady pace rather than a race. We'll aim for each walk to be about 2 hours duration.
Poles available. Wear outdoor activity footwear and clothes suitable for the weather.

Gore Heath and Morden Bog Circular
A delightful circular wander through the varied landscapes of Gore Heath and Morden Bog National Nature Reserve. Starting from Sherford Bridge car park, the route follows firm sandy and gravel forest tracks through mixed woodland, past atmospheric decoy ponds and wooden bridges, and out across open heathland with views over one of England's largest valley mires. Highlights include a forester's memorial, a lookout tower, the tranquil shores of Morden Park lake, and a gentle return leg alongside the River Sherford. Rich in wildlife, look out for Dartford warblers, sika deer, reptiles, and rare heathland wildflowers.
