Walk Description:

Start your Sunday with our unique Yoga WALX, a gentle walk and mindful experience that fuses walking with Hatha yoga and relaxation. This session is the perfect way to work on your core strength, flexibility, and balance. We incorporate standing yoga poses and movements, all modified so that walking poles can be used for support.

The walk offers an opportunity to engage in a mindful practice, where we focus on the breath, body, and surroundings. It's a wonderful introduction for newcomers to yoga and a chance for seasoned yogis to practice in the great outdoors.

Walk time of 1 hour.

Walkers are requested to arrive at the venue 10 minutes before the start time to allow for parking, shoe change, pole adjustment etc, so that the walk can start promptly at the time indicated.

Please ensure your PARQ is up to date and notify us if you have any change to your physical or mental wellbeing. This should include any surgery, injuries or accidents.

Walk Description:

Total Body Walking has its origins in Nordic Walking and is the next step in your fitness journey. If you want to learn how to turn your walks into a Total Body WALX, then come and join the Power of Poles induction programme. 

This class is suitable for all levels of fitness and is ideal for beginners as it is a structured teaching programme engaging participants, helping them to feel the benefits of walking with poles. In this 90min session, you will learn the basics of Total Body Walking, feeling your muscles engaging in both upper and lower limbs. On completion, you will gain your Freedom Passport, opening up over 2500 national WALX and Nordic Walking UK classes weekly.

Your WALX Master is specifically trained to deliver this session to benefit you the most.

Locally, you will be able to book onto any of our WALX on The Chase straight away and enjoy effective, Total Body Walking in the beautiful surroundings of Cannock Chase.

 Join us for a leisurely 5 mile walk across the sands of Liverpool Bay to the small archipelago of 3 islands making up the Hilbre islands. 

The first island and the smallest is called ‘little eye’, where you will see the sandstone that is very evident in all 3 islands. 

Moving onto the other bigger islands, where at Hilbre will see the telegraph and lifeboat stations. Time to sit and relax, watch the sea birds and if lucky see the seal colony.

For the Home Weights workout with Denise, all you need is something you can hold in your hands to use as an added resistance. It could be a set of weights or dumb-bells or, alternatively, you could use washing softener bottles or plastic milk bottles filled with water. You could use wet towels in a plastic bag or bags of potatoes (anything you can hold in each hand). Walk Description:

This is a delightful and gentle scenic walk through Thorncombe Woods.

Suitable for all abilites with or without poles.

There is a wealth of wildlife – including resident Dartmoor ponies- and a varied range of mature trees and open scrubland from which, high up, there are magnificent views of the surrounding countryside with the Purbeck Hill’s in the distance. A walk not to be missed!

We will meet in car park, there is a charge of £1 per hour, to use the car park.

Throughout the walk we will be observing the social distancing as best as possible at all times.

Please note that there are no toilet facilities at this time.
