 Stunning scenery, historical connections, gorgeous architecture, well manicured gardens, a sense of timelessness… and wide shady paths all across the estate to enjoy brisk Nordic Walking.  Plus a well deserved coffee and scone at the end in the Muddy Boots Cafe - what could be better?

It is specifically for clients who are unable to attend workout walks due to the physical demand of those sessions. This sessions will cover different disciplines at a pace and level to suit you. Meet at The Mill at 11.30 am to catch a bus to Waltham Road or at Wadham Cafe for lunch before the session  

 

For walkers who have completed the Power of Poles introductory course and want to explore how to get more out using their poles with drills and advanced technique tuition.

This session involves plenty of practice, fault correction and personal guidance in order to leave you with a great understanding of using poles for longer, more challenging walks with friends and personal fitness.

You must dress appropriately for the session.

Walk Description:

Our Virtual sessions are online, helping you stay active and mobile from home. These sessions are designed to fit easily into your day. Run by NWUK Instructor, Susan Spain.

Join Susan to help you wind down on a Wednesday evening with the 8 move Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing (TMW) sequence and some gentle movement and relaxation . This is a specially created sequence of movements which promotes physical and mental wellbeing. With origins in both Tai Chi and Chi Kung, the TMW sequence fuses elements of these arts into a simplified form. It can be practised both seated and standing too, whichever suits you best. This session lasts a maximum of 40 mins. 

Make sure you keep the booking email. Your booking confirmation email contains the link to the new WALX/NWUK Virtual sessions Log in Page. When you click through you log in with the same login and password as your NWUK/WALX account. When logged in you will see your booked session and simply click on the join button by the booked session. If your device or internet browser doesn`t support the new platform you will be invited to click and join via Zoom.  

Join the session from 7.55pm for a prompt start at 8pm. Make sure you unmute yourself and enable video when you log in so you can see and hear me. Please have a sturdy chair available too.

A walk that is focussed on improving your cardio-vascular fitness encouraging you to achieve.

You will be able to be sociable and talk but not "chat" freely as this is a fitness session not a wander.

The walk is suitable for all who have no limitations and who want to get fitter.

THE WALK LEADER WILL MANAGE THE DIFFERENT ABILITIES BY SENDING FASTER WALKERS OFF IN FRONT OR SENDING THEM BACK SO THAT EVERYONE GETS A WORKOUT DURING THIS SESSION.

 

There are several ways to increase fitness.  You could increase distance with loads of stiops or you could have a shorter distance with less stops.

Walk Description:

10.30AM START. Susan`s `Thursday Thunderer Workout Walk` is a 1 hour moderate to faster pace Workout Walk in the Salford area. These energising sessions will help you rebuild your stamina and fitness levels, push that pace without compromising on technique plus work on strength and core fitness. For those who have completed a Power of the Poles or Learn to Nordic walk course and have their Freedom code.  Incorporates motivating drills and exercises using Gears 1, 2 and .... maybe some Gear 3. Will also incorporates some technique work to help you get the most out of your Nordic Walking. Start times and locations vary to give variety on a week by week basis so please check carefully each week but will always be in the Salford area. Run by NWUK Instructor, Susan Spain. 

This week - starting from Buile Hill Park, Salford (great for hill work)

Meeting point - Buile Hill Park, Salford car park. Turn off the A576 Eccles Old Road into the park itself (by the pedestrian crossing & junction with Chaseley Road)), keep left at the fork and park in the car park. There are no toilet facilities available.
