MIKE`S LONGER 2-3 HOUR TUESDAY ADVENTURE WALK (meet at 10.20am for a prompt 10.30am start time) - Led by Parks and Pathways Walk Leader Mike Podmore. It will be a moderate pace 2 -3 hour walk of around 5 to 8 miles from different locations taking place at least twice a month when Mike is available.
THIS WEEK - Jumbles, Wayoh & Old Russia Reservoirs Circular from the Black Bull Inn, Edgworth, Bolton. This walk is just over 5.5 miles with hill inclines but the scenery & views are worth it. It is mostly on decent tracks/paths. There are 3 flights of steps to ascend/descend and 3 stiles. The route not only takes in the picturesque Jumbles, Wayoh & Old Russia Reservoirs but also passes the fantastic Turton Tower (see https://turtontower.co.uk for more details) plus the pretty villages of Turton Bottoms, Edgworth & Chapeltown via woodland & country lanes, Bradshaw & Walleach Brooks & the Witton Weavers Way. Toilets are available at the Visitors Centre at Jumbles Country Park, during the walk where we will take a brew stop and also at the end of the walk at the pub. After the walk, there is the option of a brew or a spot of lunch at the Black Bull Inn which has fantastic views over Wayoh Reservoir. Let Mike know if you want to stay for lunch when you book the walk.
Meeting point – Meet in the car park (located at the rear of the pub) at The Black Bull Inn, 167-169, Bolton Road, Edgworth, Bolton BL7 0AF. From the B6391 Chapeltown Road fork slight right after 1.7 miles onto Wellington Road (Turton Bottoms) before entering Chapeltown itself.TheBlack Bull is 0.7 miles along the road on the left hand side opposite Edgworth Methodist Chuch. There is a small free car park is at the rear of the pub.

These walks take you any where and everywhere. The main focus of these walks are to explore the area, including open countryside, Nature Reserves, Canals and Parks and Gardens .
Depending on the route will depend on the terrain we will be walking over, which may include some styles and rough ground
The walks will vary each week and are lead either by an instructor or a walk leader.
Please be aware on this walk as it goes through some woodland the terrain in places can be quite narrow and the path in places has exposed roots making it tricky in places
The good news is there are no stiles !!!
