Northam Nature Trail Walk (Meet at the Durrant Hotel EX39 3QB) 

This walk is designed to accommodate ALL ABILITIES 

For those of you who have completed the Learn to Nordic walk course- these action packed walks are designed to help you improve your fitness levels and gain FAST results. Alternatively depending on individual abilities enjoy sociable gentle Nordic Walking in stunning locations with a mixed ability group.

Your qualified instructor will add motivating drills and exercises into a steady/fast paced fun walk. Lead by an accredited instructor, these walks make the most of our beautiful coastal countryside and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors. Enjoy a full body work out while walking beside the banks of the river Torridge, along quiet lanes and wooded footpaths before returning to the Durrant hotel for a well-deserved “revive me” cup of coffee or take advantage of their £12.50 Two course lunch with maybe a wee glass of wine (for those not driving of course!!) Arrangements are in place that car parking is free to those attending this walk. On arrival please inform reception of your vehicle registration number.

A really lovely walk on footpaths and bridleways, that passes through the deer park and woodland before entering the Valley of the Seven Bridges, and returning to the car park via the Studley Tearooms. Stunning views of Ripon Cathedral. At 4.5 miles, walking mostly in upper gear 1/gear 2, the walk takes around an hour and three quarters.

Starting out at Thurso Harbour we will walk along the promenade, enjoying the views across the bay. Continuing through Thurso town centre we cross the river, looking out for wildlife, walk up through Thurso East and back along the coast past the historic Thurso Castle. At the end of the walk a visit to the Northern Plate cafe is an option for a restorative hot or cold drink, depending on the weather!

WALX Wessex

Walk Description:

From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.

On Fridays we like to start and end our walk (or drive a short way) at a local cafe. The walks are around 4-5 miles and take around 2 hours.

Poles are optional on an Open WALX - if you would like to try some poles please contact me in advance.

Today walk at Wilton Windmill Car Boot Cafe afterwards at picnic site to support Judith's fundraiser for Autism Awareness. Please bring something sweet or savory to share and a cup. Coffee and tea will be provided.
