Although the starting location may differ, each of the walks will be different and bring beautiful landscapes and various colours, aromas, and wildlife from the different seasons.

A 2k to 3k gentle WALX that incorporates balance work, flexibility and strength exercises and maybe a bit of yoga or relaxation too. On Monday these walks take place around Stanmore and Harrow Weald on mainly flat terrain but we do go on trails through the woods so that we can enjoy the changes in nature throughout the year. This is a very friendly group and we are always ready to welcome new walkers who want to get back into exercise in a safe and gradual way.
Starting in April 2025 there is also the option to sign up for the 6 week Total Body Walking Programme in the beautiful Canons Park in Stanmore which is being supported by TfL and Friends of Canons Park. This programme runs on Tuesdays and Sundays at 11am.

We walk together through open countryside, following a mix of: Rolling fields Bridleways and countryside tracks A short road section From the very start, you’ll feel the group camaraderie and relaxed atmosphere, as conversation flows and friendships begin to build naturally. As we move through the landscape, the gentle undulations help develop strength, stamina, and total body fitness, especially when using Nordic poles—turning this into a powerful yet accessible full body walking workout. Plese note the earlier start time of 8.30 am to allow for the recent heat.We park in the normal Stansted Park overflow car park before walking through the fields and woods to the Racton Folly. There is supposed to be a ghost living there!! Then, if we survive, we will head back through the woods to Stansted. This can be either a 3.5 mile or a slightly longer 4.7 mile, mainly flat walk, depending on the route taken on the day, with a few inclines. Please allow 1 and a half to 2 hours. Optional coffee at the lovely garden centre afterwards.

Starting from the lay-by beside Pennygate Road, we begin with a gentle walk along Monkhouse Way before making our way onto the scenic Vernatts Drain Waterway.
