Walk Description:

 These walks take you any where and everywhere. The main focus of these walks are to explore the area, including open countryside, Nature Reserves, Canals and Parks and Gardens .

Depending on the route will depend on the terrain we will be walking over,  which may include some styles and rough ground 

The walks will vary each week and are lead either by an instructor or a walk leader.

Please be aware on this walk as it goes through some woodland the terrain in places can be quite narrow and the path in places  has exposed roots making it tricky in places   

The good news is there are no stiles !!!

Duration – 1 ½ hours, walk grade - 3.  Not everyone walks at the same pace!  The Regular Walk is a social way to get fit and stay fit.  It`s aimed at moderate paced walkers and above.  After a warm up we will set off together and those that wish to walk fast can go ahead and at certain points we will gather together.  This is achieved by those walking ahead will, at certain points or times, double back to the rear of the group or remaining at a pre-determined rendezvous point and practicing drills or other gentle exercises to keep warm and active.

Walk Description:

This is a delightful and gentle scenic walk through Thorncombe Woods.

Suitable for all abilites with or without poles.

There is a wealth of wildlife – including resident Dartmoor ponies- and a varied range of mature trees and open scrubland from which, high up, there are magnificent views of the surrounding countryside with the Purbeck Hill’s in the distance. A walk not to be missed!

We will meet in car park, there is a charge of £1 per hour, to use the car park.

Throughout the walk we will be observing the social distancing as best as possible at all times.

Walk Description:

For the Home Weights workout all you need is something you can hold in your hands to use as an added resistance. It could be a set of weights or dumb-bells, alternatively you could use washing softener bottles or plastic milk bottles filled with water. You could use wet towels in a plastic bag or bags of potatoes (anything you can hold in each hand). 

This is a fun session you can do in the comfort of your own home but share the experience with others. This session is a whole body workout that you can do in very little space. 

We will challenge you to make it effective, however, alternatives are offered throughout to cater for fitness levels and injuries etc.

Walk Description:

The views on this walk are spectacular, you can see for miles over the rolling hills. On a clear day you will see Arundel Castle in the distance. The village of Burhpam is very pretty with well kept country gardens. There is some climbing but if you go up you have to come back down!

This is a country road walk, the road is mainly tarmac which makes it easy underfoot. You will need your paws on the poles.

MONTHLY WALK - Led by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain, the`All Together Now`2 hour moderate to faster pace adventure walk is a monthly sociable Nordic walk of around 4 - 5 miles around some of the lovely greenspace & walking routes in South Manchester you may not be aware of. Build your fitness & stamina. This walk replaces the Monday Blaster Workout Walk on one Monday a month. 

THIS MONTH -  SALE WATER PARK & BEYOND. 

Meeting point - Mersey Valley Visitor Centre Car Park at Sale Water Park. After leaving the M60 at junction 6, at the roundabout at the bottom of the slip road, turn onto Rifle Road. Go past the Metro Link Station and turn left at the next roundabout onto Cow Lane. Go passed the Metro link car park entrance and then park in the next car park by the Visitor Centre.  Toilets are available at the visitor centre before & after the walk. Why not stay after the walk for a brew & lunch at the excellent Tree Tops Cafe by the Visitor Centre. 

Why not take the Metrolink to Sale Water Park if you don't wish to drive?

Walk Description:

This is a delightful and scenic walk through Thorncombe Woods and Puddletown Forest with a slight difference, we will be working on your Hill stamina. This is for everyone who is looking to improve their Hill work that includes everyone who is looking to start doing longer walks and feels unable to do so due to hills. Everything will be taken at your own level not at the person next to you.

Suitable for all abilites with or without poles.

There is a wealth of wildlife – including resident Dartmoor ponies- and a varied range of mature trees and open scrubland from which, high up, there are magnificent views of the surrounding countryside with the Purbeck Hill’s in the distance. A walk not to be missed!

We will meet in car park, there is a charge of £2 to use the car park.

Throughout the walk we will be observing the social distancing as best as possible at all times.

Please note that there are no toilet facilities at this time.
