This session is all about the Power of the Poles.

From this 90 minute session you will under the guidance of a qualified instructor have gained a good understanding of the technique used to turn a walk into a workout. You will be guided on how and why in using the poles correctly you will have a good workout working all the key muscle groups.

 

You will feel the difference in how you walk with poles and be amazed how it instantly improves posture, gives you a cardio workout for you and is a great start to learn more about how to improve your lifestyle with exercise.   Walking with poles is ideal for almost everyone and can literally change your life and attitude to exercise.  

Exercise can be so much fun with a supportive instructor and like minded people.   If you haven’t yet tried walking with poles come and give it a go!!

For those of you who have completed the Learn to Nordic walk course-

these action packed walks are designed to help you improve your fitness levels and gain FAST results.

Your qualified instructor will add motivating drills and execises into a fast paced fun walk.

Enjoy sociable Nordic walking in stunning locations with a mixed ability group.

Lead by accredited instructors or walk leaders, these walks make the most of our beautiful coastal countryside and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors.

This workout walk will include a short walk along the South West Coast National Trail if the tide is in or will take in the Rudyard Kipling poem etched along the promenade should the tide be out as a precursor to the scheduled workout. Alternatively we will walk the Tor. We start and finish at the meeting point (car park at the Spooky House) where outstanding views of the local coastline await our return when taking refreshments in a smart and contemporary venue (The Pier House).

Find out how walking with poles will turn your walking into a full body exercise. In this 90min session you will learn the basics of TOTAL BODY WALKING, the new way to Nordic walk.

Learn how to use poles correctly for fitness, hiking or rehabilitation.

You'll gain the skills to get the most from your own walking as well as being able to join national WALX classes.

Locally you will be able to book into any of WALX Ver Valley's classes straight away and enjoy effective total body walking in and around the St Albans beautiful countryside.

The beginner's workshop is delivered by accredited WALX Instructors.

We supply the poles for our induction courses.

A great day out walking from the pub and returning for lunch ! 

Sydling St Nicholas is an AONB and really worth a visit. The walk has some hills but all the paths are good. We can take our time and take in the fabulous views . The walk is just under 6 miles and I have allowed plenty of time to take it at our own pace, I would suggest taking a snack bar for half way .

During this 45 minute session you get to feel the benefits from using the poles for walking. Using up to 90% of the body muscle, it targets those difficult to tone areas. Walking with poles is fun, social, fantastic and it will change the way you exercise.

Poles are provided for the session.  

Please have suitable footwear on and a rucksack is advised for your belongings.

In front of the Stables Car Park, the Instructor has a grey car.  

There is a charge for Danson Park car park after 10.00am.

 

Hall Place Meeting point

Please meet on the right hand side as you enter the car park as if you were in a car. The Instructor has a small van.

Walk Description:

A comfortably paced Total Body WALX for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, during the walk providing if the weather is fine, we will stop for a 20 minute session of Chi Ball - a mixture of Tai Chi and Yoga from the seasons sequence. A small ball is used but imagination is fine for the session.

Details can be given if you would like to purchase a ball, for more details on the full chi ball virtual class please see the booking system.  

You can book this session without the Power of Poles training, join us walking with no poles or borrow a set from us and feel the ‘Power of Poles’.
