Beautiful rural, circular walk out along the ridge with stunning views, dropping down into Primrose Woods for our return. There may be cows in one or two of the fields but it is a regular walking route so the cows are used to people. Park at the Hare and Hounds Mainly a pacy Gear1 or 2 but options for Gear 3 for those who like more of a challenge. Also options to increase the challenge or keeping it nice and steady so suitable for all abilities – depending on which direction we do this walk determines how much of a challenge the hill is.

These walks take you any where and everywhere. The main focus of these walks are to explore the area, including open countryside, Nature Reserves, Canals and Parks and Gardens .
Depending on the route will depend on the terrain we will be walking over, which may include some styles and rough ground
The walks will vary each week and are lead either by an instructor or a walk leader.
Please be aware on this walk as it goes through some woodland the terrain in places can be quite narrow and the path in places has exposed roots making it tricky in places
The good news is there are no stiles !!!

THIS IS A TRAINING WALK FOR THOSE TAKING PART IN THE 24/9 HALF MARATHON. PLACES WILL BE OPEN TO NON-EVENTERS TOO BUT PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN FIRST TO THOSE SIGNED UP FOR THE EVENT.

On average we clock up approx 5 miles at steady Gear 2 pace.

9.30am START. Led by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain, the 'Saturday Early Bird Workout Walk' is a 1 hour moderate to faster pace Workout Walk. These energising sessions will help you rebuild your stamina and fitness levels, & push that pace without compromising on technique plus work on strength and core fitness. For those who have completed a Power of the Poles or Learn to Nordic walk course and have their Freedom code. Incorporates motivating drills and exercises using Gears 1, 2 and .... maybe some Gear 3. Will also incorporates some technique work to help you get the most out of your Nordic Walking.
Meeting point - We meet outside the cafe at the Clifton Country Park Visitor Centre Car Park. (Sat Nav: M27 6NG). Plenty of free parking. Easily reached via exit 16 off the M60 or exit 2 off the M61, then along the A666 and turn down Clifton House Road (follow brown signs). Bus stop: Use the Clifton Cricket Club stop on Manchester Road (Bus numbers 8 and 22). Park is a short walk down Clifton House Road.
Stay after the walk for the social at the cafe.... have a quick brew (option to bring your own mug to be more environmentally friendly) and have breakfast if you wish... and then stay for the 11am Saturday Strider Adventure Walk too! (Even better value if you're on the monthly Direct Debit option!).
Toilet facilities are available at the cafe (along with the usual hot drinks and snacks).
Poles can be hired on the day for £1 (coin)

Rose Hill Marple Nordic Walks
Come along and join us on a friendly Nordic Walk starting at The Railway Pub near Rose Hill Station Marple, there are different circular routes around the area, using a mixture of streets, canals, parks, woodland, riverside paths, bridlepaths
The walk includes a short mobilisation of joints prior to walking and a cool down stretch at the end.
The walks are advertised at 90mins but they may take a little longer than that, due to terrain, social distancing measures.
Time 10:00-11:30
Gears 1 and maybe 2 with some hills.
Distance approx 5km (3miles)

Join our Guided Nordic Walk around the ancient Forest. Walks are led by our team of experienced Forestry England Volunteers. Our walks are suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels, who have completed a NWUK Learn to Walk Course and are comfortable walking for the full 90 minutes.
