 These walks take you any where and everywhere. The main focus of these walks are to explore the area, including open countryside, Nature Reserves, Canals and Parks and Gardens .

Depending on the route will depend on the terrain we will be walking over,  which may include some styles and rough ground 

The walks will vary each week and are lead either by an instructor or a walk leader.

Please be aware on this walk as it goes through some woodland the terrain in places can be quite narrow and the path in places  has exposed roots making it tricky in places   

The good news is there are no stiles !!!

It's a full moon - maybe. During the summer there is plenty of light, and as the evenings draw in torches help us find our way around our specially selected routes. Enjoy sociable Nordic Walking for Freedom Passport holders in a variety of locations with a mixed ability group. 

Lead by accredited instructors or leaders, these walks make the most of our beautiful countryside and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors, at the same time as improving your fitness and wellbeing.

We'll walk for at least an hour, longer if your time allows. Bring pennies for a visit to a nearby hostelry for refreshment afterwards.

Walk Description:

In this session we work on helping you to get strong legs, upper body strength, ankle strength, hip stability, balaance, agility all whilst having a great laugh.

You will be working hard but at appropriate level for your ability.

Everyone is supportive and youwill be made very welcome.

YOU DO NOT NEED POLES IF YOU ARE NOT A NORDIC WALKER.

You will part your car at the Ewe and Lamb then make your way over to the field opposite The Hanbury Turn Pub.

Please be at the field by 9.25am ready for the warm up.

ONLINE CLASSES

For online classes you must ensure that you have a clear area to train (Approx 2m Square).

You must dress appropriately for the session.

You must ensure that your emergency contact details are up to date in your profile. 

You will need a mat for floor exercises, a tea towel for strength exercises and a place where you can do press ups such as a kitchen work surface.  If you have access to a fitness band that would be useful too.

If the class is billed as a Gymstick/Pro X Walker/Isobow owners class you MUST have these items.

INDOOR CLASSES 

Bring a mat and clothing suitable for indoor fitness.

OUTDOOR CLASSES

You must be fit and healthy enoygh to take part in sessions outside on grass and other surfaces.

 Stunning scenery, historical connections, gorgeous architecture, well manicured gardens, a sense of timelessness… and wide shady paths all across the estate to enjoy brisk Nordic Walking.  Plus a well deserved coffee and scone at the end in the Muddy Boots Cafe - what could be better?

Walk Description:

This lovely relatively easy walk starts in Sydney Gardens then we join the canal tow path and Nordic Walk along to the open vista of Bathwick Hill Fields taking in the beautiful views of Bath City and beyond. We cross into Smallcombe Woods and take one of a variety of paths (includes a hill). We emerge from the Woods into Widcombe fields then we drop down again to rejoin the tow path and return to Sydney Gardens to cool down, stretch and refresh (optional) :)We will mainly be in a brisk Gear 1 moving into Gear 2 for this walk but there are options for Gear 3 for those who want more of a challenge. Depending on which way we do this walk there is either a gentle hill option or a slightly steeper longer hill option but this walk is classed as a gentle adventure walk.
