Healey dell was once an industrial site with numerous mills along the valley, this walk passes the ruins of the mills which are now returning to nature, before heading up on to Rooley Moor with stunning views of the reservoirs all around and Manchester and Rochdale in the distance. Once on the moor there's a steady climb before dropping down the Pennine Bridleway and long abandoned tram inclines to a disused train line which we walk along then pass over a viaduct, after a brief visit to the cascades we make our way back along the river Spoden to the start, where there's the option of visiting the Healey Dell Coffee Shop before heading home.
