Come along and gain your Nordic Walking certification as well as explore the park at Glen Parva and part of The Great Central Way. Poles will be provided, and after an introduction on how they will help your posture and improve your walking experience and a short session on how to use them, we will take them for a stroll around these green areas to see how you can get the most out of Nordic walking.
All you need are comfortable walking shoes or boots with enclosed toes (our poles have spikes), a small back pack to carry any necessary items (both arms need to be able to swing freely) and wear layered clothing as most people find they heat up along the way.

Pace one
A 2k to 3k gentle WALX that incorporates balance work, flexibility and strength exercises and maybe a bit of yoga or relaxation too. On Monday these walks take place around Stanmore and Harrow Weald on mainly flat terrain but we do go on trails through the woods so that we can enjoy the changes in nature throughout the year. This is a very friendly group and we are always ready to welcome new walkers who want to get back into exercise in a safe and gradual way.
Starting in April 2025 there is also the option to sign up for the 6 week Total Body Walking Programme in the beautiful Canons Park in Stanmore which is being supported by TfL and Friends of Canons Park. This programme runs on Tuesdays and Sundays at 11am.
